Review: Pantomime magic from Stagecoach Melton Mowbray

Last Friday, I had the privilege of watching the first show on the main stage at Melton Theatre by Stagecoach Performing Arts School. What a treat it was! writes Margaret Miles.

Cinderella Two - The Sisters Strike Back’ was about what happened after the traditional Cinderella story that we all know. There were some fabulous performances from all the students.

The older ones had the main parts and captured the magic of the story really well. But there is no doubt that it was the youngest children, aged four to six who stole the show. They were mushrooms who spied on the baddies and reported back to their boss, Toadstool. Dancing to The Sugar Plum Fairy, they stole the hearts of everyone in the audience.

I know that the children only rehearse for three hours on a Friday night (the younger ones even less) so it really was a marvellous achievement.

Thank you to all the teachers and helpers for putting on such a good show and to Jo Gallagher, their Principal for all her hard work in making it such a good experience for children and audiences alike.
