Last month I attended the full meeting of Melton Council where the ‘bin tax’ petition, which had been signed by 1,864 residents was ‘debated’, then promptly binned by the ruling Conservative group. Whatever you think of this decision, I believe April’s meeting and last week’s annual meeting were bad for democracy for many other reasons.
