Asfordby Village Hall is the venue to be at on Friday for Asfordby Soul night. There will be more classic and northern soul, Motown and modern soul and the odd surprise. Guest DJ will be Julian Clapton, resident DJ's will be Andy Devereaux, DJ Spanner and Maggie and Peter Woodcock.

On Friday The Noels Arms will host Steven Faulkner. Whether it’s his passionate heartfelt delivery, his clever arrangements, or his use of different sounds and effects, his shows are always lots of fun. From The Beatles to Tenacious D via Wheatus and Vanilla Ice you know you’re in for a treat.

Acoustic dualists Ray Callcut and Richard Hewson return together at The Boat, on Friday, for an acoustic get together.

Mick Wilson ex 10cc headlines at The Saddle, in Twyford, on Saturday. Since joining Graham Gouldman for an acoustic set at the Green Room in London’s Cafe Royal over 10 years ago, Mick has become a regular in the latest incarnation of 10cc, taking on lead vocal duties and playing percussion, guitar and keyboards.

The Noels Arms have booked The Boutones on Saturday. They’re professional musicians with a mutual love of soul, rhythm and blues and Americana.

Saturday sees The Budgie Smugglers take over at The Grapes. The Budgie Smugglers will play a variety of rock ‘n’ roll, pop, rock and punk classics from the 1950s to the present day. They guarantee to fill the dance floor with grins.

Calder Mclaughlin will play at the Noels Arms on Sunday. Calder is an engaging singer songwriter with a distinctive and powerful voice. His songs all have a compelling anthemic quality to them.

Tuesday sees Melton Folk Club gather at The Crown hosted by Adrian Kerr.

On Wednesday, Bill’s Bar in Oakham, is hosting an open mic night hosted by Simon Booth.
