This year’s Dove Cottage Day Hospice Santa fun run and walk takes place in the picturesque grounds of Belvoir Castle on Sunday. With online registration closing tomorrow at 4pm - there’s not much time left to register!

But don’t panic. If you haven’t yet registered but do want to join the festive fun - you can register on the day.

The action begins at 10.30am. Entrants will have the opportunity to take on a 2.5km, 5km or 10km route.

Registration, which includes a Santa suit and medal, is £12 for adults and children 13 and over, £5 for children under 12 and free for children three and under. Participants will be issued with a number, sponsor form and route map on receipt of registration.

Amanda George, fundraising administrator for Dove Cottage, said: “We’re feeling pretty excited. So far 356 lovely people have pre-registered to take part and we can’t wait to see them on the day.

“We’re hoping that 400 people enter which would be fantastic as last year, the first time we held the fun run and walk, we got 300.

“We have introduced a new 10km route and The Duchess of Rutland will be starting off this year’s event.”

To take part visit http://www.dovecottage.org/santa-fun-run-walk-registration/ or call 01949 860303.

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead and presents must be picked up.

Dove Cottage, in Stathern, offers day care to people living in north east Leicestershire, Rutland and south east Nottinghamshire. Nearly 3,700 places are available each year for people with life-limiting conditions.
