This riveting, crisply fashioned thriller centres on a CBS news investigation into George W. Bush’s military service record. During the 2004 presidential campaign, producer Mary Mapes (Blanchett) and anchorman Dan Rather (Redford) are tipped off that Bush dodged his patriotic duty in the Vietnam War. Mapes assembles an expert team to gather evidence about the allegations.
