Open gardens in Scalford Road will raise funds for sight loss charities

Melton couple Richard and Hilary Lawrence, of 119 Scalford Road, open their garden to the public on Sunday as part of the National Gardens Scheme.

The attraction will be open to raise funds for research and treatments for sight loss in a tribute to Richard’s daughter, Claire, who is an artist that is registered blind.

The garden has mixed borders with traditional and exotic plants, vegetable parterre, greenhouse and various water features including a pond.

It is open from 11am until 5pm. Admission is £2.50 for adults and free for children. Homemade teas will be served, plants will be for sale and some of Claire’s art will be on show.
