Hundreds enjoy Knipfest's celebration of music

The music event in Knipton, in the Vale of Belvoir, hosted a selection of local bands who played in aid of three charities.

The line-up of entertainment included Katie Lyle, The 4 Tarantino’s, Milk No Sugar, AJ and the Collective, Monochrome Empire, The Manipulators, Crazy Ape and headliners Ultra 90s.

One of the organisers Phil Noon said: “Apart from a torrential downpour which lasted 10 minutes everyone had a fantastic time listening to some great music.

“New this year was an exhibition from a local cheerleading group and we even had some burlesque dancers perform on the stage.

“The attendance was slightly down on last year but we still has well over 750 people turn up.

“There was a really good vibe and the community spirit shown to help us put on the event was first class.”

Knipfest, held at Belvoir Cricket Club, is organised in memory or Julie Copley who bravely fought against cancer.

Money raised at this year’s event will be split between Cancer Research UK, who will receive 50 per cent, St Barnabas Hospice in Grantham, who will receive 25 per cent and Dove Cottage Day Hospice in Stathern, who will be given 25 per cent.
