A variety of entertainment and activities are planned at Goadby Marwood next Sunday (August 21), courtesy of the village hall committee.

Attractions will include garage sales, a car boot, beer tent serving real ales, a barbecue, tea, cake and refreshments, a teddy bear trail for children which will run through the village, a range of traditional games, a tombola and a raffle.

The events from 11am to 5pm are being held to raise funds for repairs to the village hall.

Organiser Rebecca Woolley said: “The village hall is a Grade II listed former school building and is the central hub of the village providing a range of community social events and a venue for classes such as yoga and reading groups.

“It’s an essential part of our very small and rural village and its loss would be sorely felt.

“We hope that our event will raise not only much needed funds but will bring people into the village who otherwise would just pass us by.”

Car boot pitches are still available for £6 a pitch, but must be pre-booked in advance.

To book call Rebecca on (01664) 464194.
