Thorpe Arnold cricket: Hickman and Postle pick up Player of the Year awards

Thorpe Arnold Cricket Club held their senior and under 15s presentation evening at the clubhouse on Saturday.

Averages were compiled by fixture secretary Gary Bush, and in the absence of club president Nigel Lane, Richard Garner stood in as compere for the evening.

Charlie Read retained the trophy for most runs with Myles Hickman picking up the trophy for best batting average along with most hedgehoppers.

Hickman also featured on the bowling side with the most clean bowled wickets, and was First XI Player of the Year.

Up and coming under 15s player Lewis Postle was voted Second XI Player of the Year for his excellent bowling, and was also awarded the Young player of the Year Shield.

William Foldys secured the best cup for bowling average, while Kingsley Miller took the catching award and the most wickets trophy.

The Sunday team Player of the Year award went to Lewis Perry.

James Fendell picked up the duck trophy, but was also presented with the Chairman’s Award for his consistent support of the teams and for his help with work on the ground.

Gallagher Plowman swept the board in the under 15s section with best bowler, best batsman and Player of the Year trophies, while Jack Denton was named Most Improved Player.
