Melton RFC Under 7s burst onto the competitive scene in style on Sunday at the Syston Rugby Festival.
In a squad slightly depleted by age grade rules, Melton fielded one team and competed against five teams from all over Leicestershire.
They won four out of their five games, two of which by comfortable margins.
Melton’s speed and pace was outstanding and when coupled with their fantastic ball handling there was little their opposition could do to stop them.
Coach Jenny Beech said: “I am blown away by these kids today. They have only been playing together for six weeks and in that time they have become a force to be reckoned with.
“The only team able to beat them have been playing together for two years, and even then the deficit was a single try.”
The squad travels to Loughborough this weekend with high hopes of maintaining their stunning form.
