Stong starts ease Melton and Barnstone to league wins

There were wins for Barnstone and Melton Indoor Bowls Club A last Saturday in the latest round of the House of Townened-sponsored Warren Triples League.

Barnstone quickly got into their stride against Belvoir Vale and by the ninth end were ahead by 24 shots.

Vale tried hard to get back into the game and did deny their opponents maximum points, but Barnstone were too strong and went on to win by 30 shots on aggregate.

The other match saw Melton make a fast start against Syston and hold a commanding 25-shot lead by the halfway stage.

They kept the pressure on to take maximum points from a 94-44 win.
