Melton Town bowlers pip St James Park in inaugural match

Melton Mowbray Town ran out close winners as they met St James Park, Radcliffe, for the first time on Saturday.

The game was close throughout, but Town crept ahead late in the match and held on to win by eight shots.

Two days earlier, Melton came unstuck against their old friends and rivals, Oakham, by 30 shots.
