The race came to life on the second lap when a group of six riders jumped off the front and pulled out a 45-second gap over the peloton.

The break proved telling as the group stayed away for the next three laps. The peloton didn’t get organised until the last two miles and by then it was too late, coming in 15 seconds behind the breakaway.

Ed Pickard (Leisure Lakes Cycles) was first acros the line from runner-up Rhodri Owen (Ynys Mon RT) and Fraser Rounds (unattached).

* Warm conditions for the last evening 10 TT of the season at Wymondham saw six riders looking to claim points for the league shake-up.
