Melton Hockey: Sibun winner gets First XI up and running

After having their first game abandoned at half-time due to a storm of biblical proportions, Melton Hockey Club's First XI finally got their campaign up and running with a win.

Hosting North Notts in East Midlands Premier, Melton fell behind, but fought back through Dan Kendall’s equaliser.

Things got even better when Craig Durrant skipped past three North Notts players and fired a spectacular goal past the helpless keeper.

Notts levelled up again after half-time, but good work from Chris Food and Durrant saw Andy Sibun convert a move which had started in Melton’s own half.

Melton comfortably held on for their first win in more than half-a-year.

The First XI are at home again on Saturday when they host Market Harborough from 12.30pm.

Melton: N. Eden, J. Brooks (c), D. Kendall, A. Brown, J. Judge, P. Taylor, C. Food, C. Durrant, D. Fleming, A. Sibun, J. Hewitt, S. Pollard, M. Smith, A. McQuillan.
