Greetham Golf: Cunnington and Grant take early season honours
Conditions were benign and the greens staff worked hard to provide fast putting surfaces.
In the men’s competition low handicappers took the top three places, but there was a very creditable fourth-place for Martin Thwaites, playing off 22, with 39 points.

Hide AdThree-handicapper Nick Cunnington was overall winner with 42 points after sinking six birdies and 10 pars.
Ray Gladwinfield (5) carded 13 pars and two birdies to take second spot with 41 points, on countback from six-handicapper Matt Williams whose double bogey on the 13th cost him his trophy chances.
The ladies’ competition was keenly contested with only two points separating the top four.
Gilly Grant (7) won with an excellent 38 points after a round of two birdies and 11 pars.

Hide AdSue Brand (17) scored on every hole to accumulate 37 points and secure runners-up finish, on countback from Lesley Young (20 handicap).
* Keith Smith clinched victory in the Seniors Winter League after edging out rivals Rob Gray (220) and David Aldred (219).
