Melton Town overcome Leicester City Legends
Melton hosted a Leicester City Legends XI in their final warm-up game on Sunday as they officially opened their new ground.
Spectators were treated to the unusual sight of Melton boss Tony Thorpe, who began his career with the Foxes, turning out for the visitors against his own players.
But Melton came out on top against a City side which also featured Steve Guppy, Steve Walsh and Matt Piper.
Town also beat Birstall and Cottesmore in their pre-season programme and put up a creditable performance in a 2-0 defeat at higher league Rainworth.
