Five schools from the Melton and Belvoir area took part in a girls’ primary schools football league.

It was played over three nights and three locations, culminating at Swallowdale.

Stathern, Swallowdale, Bottesford and Brownlow were all playing for the shield, sponsored by Asfordby Amateurs Ladies’, Girls’ and Inclusive FC, while The Grove were invited to take part on the final night.

A huge amount of talent and progression was on show with Bottesford Primary School taking third place with 22 points and pushing Stathern into fourth.

The top two spots were close-fought and decided on goal difference as Brownlow pipped Swallowdale to the title.

Organisers wish to thank Asfordby Amateurs for their support and sponsorship, referees Jack Alexander and Scott Cragg, as well as Swallowdale, Bottesford and Brownlow for hosting.
