The team reached the quarter-finals of the league cup, and led the division for most of the season before narrowly missing out with an impressive third-place finish.

Manager Darren Smillie said: “It’s been a great season. The girls have become great friends, giving 100 per cent commitment on and off the pitch.

“They have battled really hard and are getting physically stronger and more skilful each week.
