Asked to bat first, both Bates (12) and Tyler (10) got starts, but fell in quick succession, leaving Jeary (40) and Harris (50) to set the foundation of the innings.

Useful knocks by Marshall (11) and Rivers (17) left Park happy at tea with 176-7 on the board.

Rivers and Barber both struck early, but the home side had to sit in the game until spin partners Tyler and Jeary found turn and bounce to remove the middle order.

And when Beeken joined in the wickets, Park looked set for victory.

But the game faded out to a draw with Barrow finishing on 157-6, leaving the hosts with a deserved winning draw.

Egerton Park lie seventh in Division Seven East and visit Lutterworth Third XI on Saturday.
