Firefighters had to free someone who was trapped in a car after two vehicles were in collision at Old Dalby.

An injured casualty from the other car was treated by paramedics following the incident, at 6.15pm on Lawn Lane.

Fire crews from Melton and Birstall attended the scene, off Six Hills Lane and Wood Hill.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Our intial information was that two cars were involved in a road traffic collision with one person trapped and another was regarded as walking wounded.

“The Casualty was extricated and taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham by ambulance and one further casualty was assessed by paramedics.”
