EU referendum: Rushcliffe votes to remain

People of the Rushcliffe borough voted for Britain to remain in the European Union, bucking the trend for local authority areas around the country.

At the time of going to press only Rushcliffe, Leicester city and Warwick had voted in favour of staying in the EU.

A total of 40,522 people in the Rushcliffe borough voted to remain. The borough includes a number of villages in the Melton Times’ circulation area including Upper Broughton, Hickling, Kinoulton, Owthorpe, Colston Bassett, Cropwell Bishop, Langar, Barnstone and Granby

A total of 29,888 people in Rushcliffe voted for Britain to leave the EU.
