Open day raises awareness and funds for Eastwell's locomotive conservation project
The event also raised awareness of the conservation of ‘Lord Granby’ - a locomotive that worked in Eastwell from 1902 to 1959 for the Eastwell Ironstone Company.
The goal is to restore ‘Lord Granby’ to static exhibit status as the central attraction of a future ironstone heritage centre.

“Our primary objective was to make face-to-face contact with as many of our supporters as possible and we certainly achieved that. Everyone who visited was impressed with the work done so far.
“Our secondary objective was to raise some money towards the conservation of ‘Lord Granby’ and it looks as if over £800 was achieved on the day.”
