Following on from the landslip which happened on Broughton Hill on June 22.

The Leicestershire County Council very kindly put in a full closure and a local diversion in place, which was then reduced to a northbound (down hill) closure only, with the same diversion in place for Northbound traffic – along left onto the Salt Road to Six Hills crossroads, turn right and travel to the A46 (northbound) to meet up with the A606 at the second junction. All very well for car drivers and, when there is no visibility issues at Six Hills crossroads for car drivers.

What about the many HGV’s who use the A606 and then struggle to safely get out at the Six Hills junction?

Why wasn’t there any signs put up in Melton itself, on Wilton Road and Norman Way directing traffic away from the A606 and straight onto the A6006.

Indeed, why are there still no signs in Melton, some eight weeks later?
