Charity lunch with Charles Hanson helps raise £1,200 for Dove Cottage Day Hospice

The charity event on, Friday, April 15, at The Chequers Inn at Woolsthorpe was a huge success thanks to auctioneer Charles Hanson.

Mr Hanson, who regularly appears in programmes such as Antiques Roadshow, Bargain Hunt, and more recently co-host of the new BBC One gameshow, For What It’s Worth, gave an insight to his world over a hot buffet lunch.

After which people were invited up to have their family treasures valued.

More than 70 people attended the event which raised £1,200 for Stathern’s Dove Cottage Day Hospice.

The hospice is holding a number of other fundraising events this year to celebrate its 20th anniversary including a Headshave (May 15), 1920’s Summer Ball (June 4) and Skydive (June 12).
