This year’s theme invited entrants to write about ‘Our World Is Beautiful’ and Izabella was chosen as this year’s winner for her excellent use of language.

There were other entries from Brownlow School and from St Francis Roman Catholic Primary School and overall the standard of entries was very high.

Izabella’s entry was sent on to the district final of the competition and when she went to the presentation and workshop, recently held at De Montfort University, she found that she had also won that stage of the competition. Her work will now go on to the regional final.

Izabella, who loves writing and has already started on her first book, was presented with the trophy, the winner’s medal and a certificate at a recent Brownlow School assembly by Maggie Saunders, from the Rotary Club of Melton Belvoir. Her proud parents were also there to see the presentation.
