Drop-in events to discuss the latest proposed changes to the Melton Local Plan will begin next week.

Officers will be available to explain suggested amendments agreed by borough councillors at a meeting earlier this month.

The first drop-in event is on Tuesday at Victoria Commemoration Hall at Bottesford from 4pm to 7pm.

The next is at Somerby’s Memorial Hall the following day, between the same times.

On Monday July 31, Waltham Village Hall will host a drop-in, 4pm - 7pm, followed on Tuesday August 1 by one at Long Clawson Village Hall between the same times.

Melton residents will get their chance to discuss the proposals on Thursday August 3, with a session at the borough council offices running from 10am until 4pm.

The final drop-in event is at the Wreake Parish Hall at Frisby on Wednesday August 9, from 4pm to 7pm.

Melton Council is holding a six-week consultation into the amended draft Local Plan, which details development requirements and opportunities in the borough for the next 20 years.

The council aims to submit the final Local Plan to the Government in early October, with a Public Examination hearing likely then to be heard in January ahead of the new plan being adopted next summer.

Residents have until August 23 to make comments on the latest draft plan.
