Dogs Trust Christmas Fair at Wymeswold raises thousands

Thanks to the dog loving public, Dogs Trust Loughborough's homeless hounds are celebrating after their Christmas Fair held at the rehoming centre in Wymeswold raised a record amount.

With Santa Paws on hand to have festive photographs taken with two-legged and four-legged visitors, raffles, tombolas, gift and craft stalls selling perfect Christmas presents and stocking fillers, a children’s activity zone, cake stalls and festive refreshments, a total of £7,041.91 was raised.

Ella Tonge, Dogs Trust Loughborough supporter relations officer, said: “More than 500 people came along to the event on November 26 and 27, and we’re absolutely staggered by how much has been raised.

“Everything we do is focused on giving our dogs the best care possible whilst they are with us. Without the support of the dog loving public throughout the year, we wouldn’t be able to do this so we would like to say a huge thank you and wish everyone, and their four-legged friends, a happy Christmas and a healthy 2017.”
