Langham man faces attempted murder charge

A 47-year-old Langham man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.

Robert Truscott, of Lowther Close, was arrested in connection with an incident in Oakham which left a woman in a ‘critical condition’.

He went before Leicester magistrates on Saturday on charges of attempted murder, Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm and possession of a bladed article.

Leicestershire Police say two people were assaulted in the incident at a house in the town.

A spokesperson for the force said: “The charges relate to an incident in Bullfinch Close in Oakham during Thursday evening.

“The 36-year-old victim remains in the Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham, where her condition has been described as critical but stable.”

A second man who was arrested in connection with the incident has since been released no further action.
