A selection of Brooksby Melton College (BMC) students joined special guest Rosemary Conley at the grand opening of The Amwell, a care home on Asfordby Road.

The launch event began with music, champagne and canapes, with BMC musical theatre student Grace Longland performing a stunning rendition of On My Own from Les Miserables, amongst other hits.

Following the official opening and ribbon cutting ceremony there was choir performance from pupils from The Grove Primary School and an energetic dance routine from BMC’s Fly Dance Company.

Home manager Christopher Batty said: “Brooksby Melton College is a fantastic college, and in the future we hope to offer a variety of work experience for their health and social care, catering and hospitality, and hair and beauty students. There will also be opportunities for BMC’s performing arts students to engage in activities such as dance classes with our residents.

“In addition, we hope to employ some BMC students once they have completed their qualifications at college.”
