Staff at Twinlakes theme park, near Melton, are preparing to reopen the site at the end of this month.

The park was closed in March as part of the government’s lockdown to limit the spread of coronavirus.

But it will be open again on June 29, although just the farm park, including the falconry feature, will be available to visit at first.

It is hoped that selected other attractions will then be open from July 4 if the government is convinced it is safe to relax restrictions further.

“We want to ensure you feel safe and comfortable when visiting and will do everything we can with heightened cleaning regimes, social distancing and capacity restrictions.

“The theme park can only remain open if all our visitors adhere to the rules.

Visitors to the farm from June 29 will be able to see the animals but will not be allowed to touch or feed them or participate in activities with them.

Toilets will be open and will be cleaned regularly and a large number of sanistiser stations will be dotted around the park.

Visitors, including annual pass holders, must pre-book online before attending to ensure staff can manage a safe number.

Twinlakes say they will honour vouchers which were due to expire from March 21 until the end of 2020.

The following attractions will remain closed until it is deemed safe to reopen them:
