Two events will make Melton the UK's cheese capital this weekend.

The Artisan Cheese Awards - which has attracted 338 entries - will see cheeses from 86 artisan cheesemakers across Britain and Ireland battle for the coveted Supreme Champion Award and a £1,000 prize. Expert judges will name the winner tomorrow.

The Artisan Cheese Fair follows on Saturday and Sunday at the Cattle Market, from 10am to 4pm. Tickets are £3 with children under 16 free.
