Melton Theatre is once again looking forward to another exciting year in 2016 with a whole host of shows and performances lined up for your entertainment.
This year has been the most well attended year of shows the theatre has ever had and there is a great variety of acts set to perform at the venue in the near future.
For those who love food, the Observer’s restaurant critic Jay Rayner visits Melton in May to examine the fascination with lousy reviews, recall some of his worst nights out and share his thoughts on our rural capital of food.
Comedy fans will love that the theatre is included in Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival for the third year running and their brand new project the BIG Weekend.
Ed Byrne will perform his ‘Outside Looking In’ gig in April and tickets are now at increased capacity. Russell Kane aims to have the audience in stitches in March, and Sean Locke visits the theatre the same month, with tickets for his show already sold out.
Following on from Simon Weston’s fascinating speech in February (2015) another insightful talk has been lined up by Tessa Dunlop and the Bletchley Girls in April (2016), and music next year will come from the likes of La Voce, Limehouse Lizzy and David Hamilton.
Other highlights include Melton Musical Theatre Companys production of Oliver in March and Trevonne Stage Schools production of The Little Mermaid JR in April.
Melton Theatre co-ordinator Michael Harris said: “There is a busy season in store with some good advanced sales on most shows already.
“We’ve had an excellent time with all of our customers in 2015 and we want this to continue.
“Keep an eye out for more announcements in the new year and please try and book early for the shows you want to see to avoid disappointment.”
