Melton families invited to first ‘Be Happy Day’

Have your say

Healthy activities and creative workshops have been organised for Melton families on Saturday to mark World Mental Health Day.

Be Happy Day, at Melton Library, will feature yoga, Tai Chi, writing and harmony singing workshops.

There will also be opportunities to try pea planting, craft work, art and jewelley-making at the event, which runs from 10.30am until 3.30pm.

Other activities planned include adult colouring workshops, a chance to work with members of Melton Knitting Group, holistic therapies and a healthy art trail.

Sam Kitson, cultural health project worker at Melton Council, which is organising the day, said: “We are really excited about our first ever Be Happy Day event.

“It has been arranged on October 10 to coincide with World Mental Health Day.

“The workshops still have spaces on them so anyone who would like to attend is welcome to come along with the family.

“It’s going to be a busy and creative day for everyone involved on the day.”
