Festive fun was the theme of the latest activities morning in Melton’s St Mary’s Church.

More than 120 people came through the doors to take part in a wide range of Christmas related activities which included the chance for youngsters to make decorations, cards and decorate biscuits.

Other activities included making Santa on a stick, a Christmas prayer corner, quiz, giant board games and the chance to go up the 143 steps of the church tower.

For adults there was the opportunity to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and cake, read the newspapers and take part in an act of worship.

St Mary’s Church is also hosting a special celebration service at 10am on Christmas morning aimed at families.

The theme will be ‘Star Corps’ using the Star Wars concept to tell a timeless truth about God sending his son, Jesus, to be born a baby on Christmas Day.

Children are welcome to attend the service wearing Star Wars themed costumes.
