A head chef at a luxury hotel near Melton celebrated a year in charge by creating a giant edible gingerbread house for guests to visit and enjoy this Christmas.
Stapleford Park’s Martin Furlong made the house consisting of real gingerbread and decorated with 30 kilos of icing and 20 kilos of sweets.
And it even had candyfloss smoke billowing from its marshmallow chimney.
Martin said: “It was a challenge, but we wanted to create something special. The feedback from guests of all ages has been amazing.”
The project took Martin and his kitchen team, including pastry chef Sally Baxter, three days to complete.
