Melton Theatre has pulled off another coup after booking popular TV comedian Kevin Bridges for a special preview show.
The Glaswegian will trial new material at a work in progress in show at the theatre on Sunday, May 3 ahead of his biggest tour to date, A Whole Different Story.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday) at 9am for bookings in person at the box office.
Online sales will begin at noon at www.meltontheatre.co.uk and telephone bookings (on 01664 851111) will only be taken once any box office enquiries have been completed.
Kevin is the third big name to preview material at Melton Theatre in the last 12 months following the legendary Lee Evans last April and Alan Carr in July.
Both shows sold out on the first day of sale and tickets are again expected to move quickly.
Melton Theatre co-ordinator Michael Harris said: “We have had a great time making the people of Melton laugh in recent months, including the hugely successful return of Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival.
“Many people might not be aware, but Kevin appeared here as part of the festival in 2006.
“We will be looking forward to welcoming him back with his inimitable style of humour once more.”
Kevin’s 2012 tour smashed box office records, selling a staggering 45,000 tickets on the first day and sold out a nine-day run in his hometown show at the Glasgow SECC Arena.
The epic 136-date tour culminated in a sell-out run through Australia.
In a busy last 12 months, Kevin hosted three shows for BBC1, including stand-up shows on the Commonwealth Games and the Scottish referendum, and the release of his autobiography.
The show will be staged at the theatre’s increased capacity of 500, so the floor seating will not be raked. It has a parental guidance warning of 14-plus.
There is a limit of four tickets per person, and anyone found reselling or attempting to resell tickets will have their booking cancelled.
