Singalong Sundays welcome the elderly

Have your say

Singalong gatherings on Sundays are back after a summer break.

The event, on the second Sunday of each month, is held at Melton Baptist Church in Leicester Road, Melton.

It includes refreshments and the opportunity for older people to join in with songs from the past.

Songs such as ‘When You’re Smiling’, ‘Waiting at the Church’ and ‘Any Old Iron’ will be performed as well as hits from the 60s and 70s.

Organiser Janet Gilchrist said: “At Singalong Sundays we hope that people will come with their family members and carers. We provide the words, but they probably won’t be needed, as once the music starts, those memories will come flooding back.”
