Melton Museum stages successive evenings of nostalgia next week.

On Tuesday, Friends of Carnegie Museum holds its monthly talks as Margaret Hudson recalls her life as a tiller girl, including Royal Variety Performances, overseas tours, and life at the London Palladium. The talk starts at 7.30pm and is free to members or £3 for non-members.

The following evening Arthur Payne presents part six of his popular Melton Mowbray: Now and Then series. Arthur shows pictures of the town dating back up to 150 years and compares them with modern photographs.

Advance tickets for the talk, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £4 from the museum or by calling (0116) 3053860.
