A series of events and activities, ranging from free tennis and five-a-side football, to outdoor concerts, is to be staged in Melton in support of the nationwide Love Your Parks Week.
The programme of events, organised by the Town Estate, kicks off on Saturday, when people can enjoy and discover all that the town parks have to offer with a wide range of activities organised. The day will be repeated the following Saturday as well.
On Sunday, the Melton Band will be performing in the bandstand at New Park from 2.45pm.
For the more active, all sporting facilities at Wilton Park, including the tennis courts and five-a-side football facilties, will be available free of charge on Monday and Wednesday. Bookings have to made at the Pavillion Cafe.
While Friday sees the popular Teddy Bears Picnic in Wilton Park at 2pm, with children invited to take along their own teddy and picnic. Free activites will include a bouncy castle, train rides, races, get the ball past the goalie game and poster colouring.
Kibworth Concert Band will bring the event to a close with a concert in the New Park bandstand from 2.45pm on Sunday, August 2.
