A special weekend of comedy is planned to take place in Melton as part of the annual Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival 2016.
The BIG weekend which takes place in February (10-14) will include performances from the likes of Nathan Cotton (BBC Live at the Apollo), Chris Betts (Leicester Square Theatre new comedian of the year finalist), Dane Baptiste (Foster’s Edinburgh best newcomer nominee) and Melton’s Jon Pearson.
The event will be spread across seven different venues including Melton Theatre, The Noels Arms, 54a King Street Coffee Shop and More Coffee Co. It is being supported by Melton Theatre and the Melton BID.
Melton BID manager Shelagh Core said: “We are really excited to be part of Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival in 2016.
“It will be a great opportunity to showcase the town and its great venues, with a great line up of comedy entertainment over the weekend.”
Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival is the longest running comedy festival in Europe. It runs from February (3-21) and features over 780 events in more than 60 venues.
Festival founder and director Geoff Rowe said: “We are really excited about expanding the festival and developing the BIG Weekend in Melton.
“It’ll be excellent to get a small taste of the main festival in local venues and we are looking forward to raising a laugh across the town.”
