TV and classical composer Phil Mountford returns to Hose Village Hall on Friday evening with his critically acclaimed five-piece ensemble, Fordante, for a spectacular new concert ‘From Puccini to the Movies.’

As part of a 23 date UK tour supported by Arts Council England, Fordante, (violin, cello, viola, oboe and keyboard), will perform their most spellbinding concert yet featuring some of the most beautiful light classics, tear jerking opera arias and movie soundtracks ever written, from much admired composers such as Strauss, Puccini and Ravel.

With a repertoire that includes such well-loved classics as Bolero, Sleeping Beauty Waltz, Orpheus Of The Underworld, Roses From The South, the Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana, performed alongside a mix of popular movie music from films such as Casablanca this is a concert not to be missed.

Phil, musical director, arranger and composer for the ensemble, said: “What is unique about Fordante, and one of the reasons I suspect why Arts Council England has supported us, is our light-hearted approach to performing a fantastic accessible classical repertoire, making wonderful music, moving and enjoyable, and ultimately engaging.”

Enhanced with stunning projected visuals and computer controlled lighting, the popular classics are presented in an entertaining manner adding to the enjoyment of the concert atmosphere and suitable for absolutely anyone who enjoys music, not just for classical aficionados.

Fordante can be seen at 7.30pm. Tickets for the concert bought in advance are priced at £10 for adults and £8 for children. They will also be available on the door priced at £12. To purchase call 01949 860707.
