Roald Dahl Day is coming up and St Mary’s Church in Melton will be celebrating the occasion by hosting a splendorous activities morning for families.
This year’s commemorative day on September 13 promises to be particularly special as 2016 marks 100 years since the storyteller’s birth.
The event at the church will take place next Saturday (September 10) from 10.30am until 12noon and will include a number of Roald Dahl themed activities and the chance to win two cinema tickets.
There’ll also be a short act of worship, crafts, quizzes, storytelling, giant board games, an arts corner, cake decorating, dream jar designing, a chocolate fountain, a book swap and refreshments will be served.
A church spokesperson said: “Come along to our next Saturday activities morning at St Mary’s Church and help us celebrate 100 years since the birth of one of world’s best storytellers, Roald Dahl.
“Everyone is welcome and all the entertainment will be free.”
