The Hitman video game franchise spawns its second film spin-off, with Rupert Friend (Homeland) now playing the genetically engineered Agent 47. The hi-tech assassin is teamed with a mysterious young woman, Katia (Hannah Ware), and they must confront the organisation that created him. Strindberg’s masterful dissection of class prejudices shaken by lust is newly adapted by the legendary Liv Ullman. Jessica Chastain plays Miss Julie, a troubled 19th-century aristocrat who falls for her father’s valet, John (Farrell). John is seduced, but has strong feelings about the social order.
