Have your say

A special activities morning is to be held at St Mary’s Church to mark the Queen’s official birthday in the summer.

The event on Saturday, June 11, is set to include a street party that will feature banners, bunting, flag-waving, singing, dancing and games.

Members of the Defence Animal Centre (DAC) and Melton’s Royal British Legion will be attending to show their support in honour of the special occasion.

A special souvenir booklet is being compiled to mark the royal milestone.

Anyone who has pictures or memories of the Queen’s visit to Melton in 1996, or any royal memorabilia, is asked to get in touch with Phil Balding by calling (01664) 564227 or by email at: philloveskaren@yahoo.co.uk
