Audition for charitable Melton talent show

Have your say

It’s time to hone your magical skills and warm up your vocal cords in preparation for a charitable ‘Melton’s Got Talent’ competition.

Application forms are now available from Melton’s Morrisons store to audition to appear in front of an audience at the competition’s finals, at the Royal British Legion in March 2016.

The competition is being held in aid of the Sue Ryder Foundation - a charity which provide hospice and neurological care for people facing a frightening, life changing diagnosis - and is open to contestants aged 16 and over.

Organiser Graham Flinders or Rotherby said: “This is a great opportunity to showcase some of the town’s excellent talent as well as supporting a worthwhile cause.

“For the final in March we’ve enlisted the help of four judges to critique the finalists and I’m glad to announce that these are Rob Morrish of Morrisons, Melton singer Howard Rose, Brian Johnson secretary of Melton’s Royal British Club and Noel G of Noel Gee Associates Ltd.

“On finals night we’re looking to have around ten acts perform. There’ll also be two cabaret performances from Howard Rose and Grantham vocalist Sharna, as well as a raffle.”

Auditions are set to take place at the Royal British Legion on February 5 with the finals (March 18) starting at 6.45pm for a 7.15pm.

The winner of the competition will receieve a cash prize.

Application forms must be completed by January 10, 2016 and returned to the customer service desk in Morrisons store or posted to: The Organiser, 50 Main Street, Rotherby (LE14 2LP).
