Thousands huddled together under blankets to enjoy Melton’s first Film in the Park event under the stars.

Food and drink such as ice cream, popcorn and sweets and Prosecco and Pimm’s was also available.

BID manager Shelagh Core said: “We would like to say thank you to everybody that came to the park to support our outdoor cinema event.

“We estimate that over 2,000 joined us, which is fantastic, and it clearly shows that there is a big demand to repeat with more Film in the Park events next year.

Melton residents have been full of praise about the event. On Facebook, Kerry Greenhalgh, said: “Massive well done to Melton BID for a fantastic evening. Cinema in the park was excellent, great sound, great atmosphere and loads of family fun. I hope it’s done again.”
