The young have fun at Melton's Teenage Market
The event held in Melton’s Market Place was a platform for some of the brightest young people across the borough (aged 13-21) to showcase their creative talents and entrepreneurial spirit for free.
Traders included 17-year-old Joe Butler, with business Alright Ducky, selling Fairtrade and ethically sourced wooden ducks and other items.

The Teenage Market is organised by the Melton Business Improvement District (BID) in partnership with Melton Council as a way of giving young entrepreneurs and performers a prominent stage to show off their creative talents and to help get their businesses off the ground.
Town centre manager and business improvement district (BID) manager Shelagh Core said: “Everyone who attended had a great time and there were some excellent talented musicians who performed on the stage, supported by Icon Music.
“Attendance was overall slighly down on last time as we did not anticipate that students would still be practising for their exams in September.”
