The event at Fourwalls gallery in Burton Street will showcase the photography of the society members and offer the chance to buy last minute Christmas gifts.

Ian Price chairman of the society said: “The aim of the society is to welcome photographers of all abilities and provide an environment where they feel they can get involved and learn new skills.

“Following on from the success of our first exhibition in 2015, Fourwalls gallery has very kindly offered to host our exhibition for a second year.

“We have decided to add another dimension to the exhibition and we will be asking members of the public to vote for their favorite picture.

“As a relatively new member myself, I have found the society a very friendly, welcoming group. Whether you’re a complete beginner, keen improver or experienced enthusiast, you’ll find a great deal at our society for you. The society embraces the full spectrum of photography, but with a real emphasis on education, quality speakers and encouraging participation from everyone.”

The society now has around 50 members who are keen amateur photographers ranging from 14-years-old upwards. Members meet every Friday evening at the Samworth Centre, from 7.15pm, and from September until the end of April. The programme of events includes external speakers, competitions and members evenings.
