Melton teens hosting fun family day for good causes at Melton's Egerton Park

A team of half a dozen Melton teenagers working on a NCS (National Citizen Service) programme have organised a fun family charity event tomorrow.

Team 6 as they’ve called themselves are raising money and awareness for the Matt Hampson Foundation and testicular cancer charity Oddballs.

The event at Melton’s Egerton Park is set to include an obstacle course, cake stalls and children’s games.

One of the team members Will Robinson said: “There will be a range of activities happening throughout the day. One of our main attractions will be a raffle, where people will have the chance to win many different prizes that have been kindly donated from shops across the town.

“As well as this, we will be selling Oddball Matt Hampson Foundation boxer shorts that have been specially made to be sold next week.

“We’re looking at getting others stalls from elsewhere, for example, an ice cream van, and whilst they will be looking to keep their profits, all of the money raised by our Team 6 stalls will go to charity.

“Expect to see people walking around the park with charity buckets so that we can try to raise as much money as possible.”

Admission to the event is free. The attractions will start from 10am to 4pm.
