Melton Learning Hub fete offers plenty of activities for children

A range of free activities were put on for families at Melton Country Park on Friday as part of an annual Easter fete.

The afternoon organised by Melton Learning Hub raised £700 for the facility which supports young people who are disengaged from learning.

Among the highlights was a four-a-side football tournament in the street stadia, a dog show, an Easter egg hunt, live bird of prey displays and business talks.

Other attractions included a bouncy castle, fashion and jewellery stall, sweet stall, healthy living information stand, barbecue, tombola and games stall, nail art, willow weaving demonstrations, and a pie stall by from Brockleby’s Pies.

Michael Connolly, of the hub said: “Our fourth annual fete went really well, better than expected. We had the busiest year ever with over 400 people turning up on the day.

“I was concerned about the weather staying fine beforehand and was hoping the rain would hold off, which it did, until the last half an hour or so.

“I’d like to thank everyone who attended, the stall holders and businesses who supported us.”
